Botox from the dentist?
Even though it seems strange to some to visit the dentist for Botox and dermal fillers, a dentist understands the facial anatomy more than most physicians and can make skillful injections that are comfortable and produce natural-looking results. As part of her continuing education, Dr. Morgan completed a Board-approved training course in facial aesthetics to learn how to safely and effectively administer treatment to our patients.
Cosmetic Concerns Treated with Botox
- Migraine Treatment: Botox can treat migraines, headaches, and facial pain. Strategically placed Botox injections into certain areas of the face relax tense muscles. TMD, or temporomandibular joint disorders, are often causes of migraines and discomfort in the face. Botox can remove painful symptoms of TMJ disorders, including migraines.
- Lipstick Lines and Smoker Wrinkles: Lipstick lines, also known as smokers’ wrinkles, are vertical lines that lead to the upper or lower lips. Botox can relax the muscles over the upper lip or below the lower lip. Relaxing these muscles helps to smooth vertical lines around the lips for a more youthful appearance.
- Upper Lip Relaxation: Botox injections enhance the volume of the upper lips. Dr. Morgan can inject Botox into the middle of the upper lip to allow the muscles to relax. When the muscles relax, the upper lip curls upward for a fuller look.
- Chin Relaxation: Chin dimples create wrinkles in the middle of the chin, which can age the face. When injected into this area, Botox relaxes the chin muscles and smooths out the appearance of chin wrinkles or dimpling. Botox can also stop patients from contracting their faces and creating new chin dimples.
